Capitol Cement has started work on the last steps of the Devon Avenue Streetscape. Besides for some minor landscaping and other miscellaneous work which is being started now, this multi-year project has been successfully completed.

Over the last few years, Devon between Kedzie and Leavitt has undergone a sweeping transformation. The sidewalks are wider and decorated with beautiful new brick pavers. Brand new trees have been planted, and the street has been completely resurfaced. New pedestrian-friendly street lights have been installed and emblazoned with specially designed neighborhood identifiers.

The Devon Streetscape has completely remodeled the avenue. Devon is now a safer, brighter, greener and more beautiful destination for shoppers from all over the City of Chicago and beyond. I look forward to the project finally being completed over the spring.
