Welcome to

Chicago’s 50th Ward

Home on the Web

The 50th ward of Chicago is on the far north side and is home to many ethnicities, religions, and races. There is no other place in the city where you can visit an Indian restaurant, a Kosher bakery, and a Muslim bookstore all within a few blocks of each other. If you live here, you know how wonderful it is. If you don’t, come on up and see all of what the residents of the 50th ward have to offer.

Take a look around the website, and please feel free to ask us anything.

CHI vs Hate—our new initiative to rewrite Chicago’s hate crime legislation—was featured in the Chicago Sun-Times today. Hate is sharply on the rise, and CHI vs Hate is the city’s first comprehensive effort in more than three decades to reverse this frightening trend. The ordinance was introduced to City Council this month with the support of all 50 aldermen and numerous civil rights organizations who are on the frontlines of the fight against hate. Together, we can make Chicago a city that supports all our communities and takes a strong stance against hate in all its forms. chicago.suntimes.com/2023/9/21/23882992/hate-crimes-incidents-ordinance-city-hall-racism-antisemi... ...
